Head of Recovery Unit 

Microfinance Foundation (TMF) is a company providing microfinance services and is seeking a Head of Recovery Unit to lead their efforts in maximizing loan recovery. The role is pivotal in driving TMF towards sustainable growth and expanding its impact in microfinance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive recovery strategies aligned with TMF’s goals, setting short- and long-term targets for the recovery unit.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient processes and analyzing performance to identify areas for improvement. Implement best practices to enhance recovery rates.
  • Lead and mentor a team, providing training and setting performance targets. Conduct regular reviews to ensure the team’s effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain client relationships, handling complex recovery cases with professionalism and ethics. Negotiate settlements and repayment plans.
  • Identify risks in loan recovery and develop strategies to mitigate them. Ensure compliance with regulations and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare detailed reports for senior management, analyzing data to provide insights and recommendations for improving recovery and financial health.
  • Work closely with departments like IT, HR, legal, and finance to ensure a coordinated approach to loan recovery. Contribute to policy development and strategy.
  • Ensure a customer-centric approach in all recovery activities, promptly addressing complaints and grievances related to loan recovery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in loan recovery or credit management, preferably in microfinance.
  • Proven track record in achieving recovery targets and strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in loan recovery.

Chief Internal Audit

Key Responsibilities  

  1. Perform and control the full audit cycle including risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations. 
  2. Determine internal audit scope and develop annual plans. 
  3. Obtain, analyze and evaluate accounting documentation, previous reports, data, flowcharts etc. 
  4. Prepare and present reports that reflect audit’s results and document process. 
  5. Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality and goal achievement. 
  6. Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings. 
  7. Maintain open communication with management and audit committee. 
  8. Document process and prepare audit findings memorandum. 
  9. Conduct follow up audits to monitor management’s interventions. 
  10. Engage to continuous knowledge development regarding sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards. 
  11. Secretarial duties regarding quarterly audit Committee meeting i.e. preparation and circulation of notice, agenda papers and minutes 

Requirements 

  1. Proven working experience as Internal Auditor 
  2. Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases 
  3. Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and to compile detailed reports 
  4. Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules and regulations 
  5. High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
  6. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills

    Qualification/Education  

    CA/CMA/ACCA (Qualified), CIA, CPA

    At least five year of relevant experience .
